PUBLIC NOTICE HEREBY IS GIVEN that the Desert Recreation District invites sealed bids for the above stated project and will receive such bids in the Administration Office of the Desert Recreation District, 45-305 Oasis Street, Indio, CA 92201 up to the hour of 3:00 PM on August 20, 2014, after which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor and incidentals as required by the Specifications and Contract documents for the above stated project.
Printed copies of said Specifications and Contract documents are available from the Desert Recreation District (District) located at the Administration Office in Indio for a non-refundable fee of $20; alternatively, Specification and Contract documents may be obtained, free of charge, in electronic format by accessing the Desert Recreation District website www.myrecreationdistrict.com under the tab ABOUT US – VENDOR-INFO or by using this link, http://www.myrecreationDistrict.com/about-us/vendor-info and downloading the documents.
This contract generally will be for a three (3) year period starting on or about September 1, 2014 and ending on August 30, 2017 with an option for one (1), two-year extension based on Contractor’s performance.
Requests for clarifications, questions and comments must be clearly labeled, “Written Questions for RFQ #14-07-001-TFT” and addressed to Delia Granados, District Clerk, Desert Recreation District Administration Office 45-305 Oasis St., Indio, CA 92201. The District is not responsible for failure to respond to a request that has not been so labeled. All questions must be put in writing and be received by the District no later than 5:00 PM on August 13, 2014.
Bids must be prepared on the approved proposal forms in conformance with the instructions to bidders and submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked on the outside “SEALED BID: DESERT RECREATION DISTRICT – FIRST TEE GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE SERVICES – DO NOT OPEN WITH REGULAR MAIL.” Each sealed envelope shall be addressed to Delia Granados, District Clerk, Desert Recreation District.
PREVAILING WAGES – Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates, including the per diem wages applicable to the work, and for holiday and overtime work, including employer payments for health and welfare, pension, vacation, and similar purposes, in the County of Riverside in which the work is to be done, have been determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available from the California Department of Industrial Relations’ Internet web site at www.dir.ca.gov. Future effective prevailing wage rates which have been predetermined and are on file with the California Department of Industrial Relations are referenced but not printed in the general prevailing wage rates. The Contractor must show the ability to keep appropriate certified payroll records.

As provided for in Section 22300 of the California Public Contract Code, the contractor may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the contract.
The District reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals and to waive any technical irregularities, to accept any bid or portion thereof, and to take all bids under advisement for a period of sixty (60) days.
At the time of the bid, the prime contractor shall possess a valid business license for the city of Palm Desert. In addition, the prime contractor shall possess and maintain throughout the term of the agreement a valid Riverside County Pesticide Business License; a current and valid C-27 State Contractor’s license; a California Pest Control Applicator’s License; and any other required licenses
