The City of Novato is seeking proposals
from qualified public depositories (a
state or national bank located in
California, as defined by Section 53635.2
of California Government code) to provide
a variety of commercial banking services.

The bank must be a member of the Federal
Reserve system, a federally or State of
California chartered financial
institution; and in good standing among
other comparable banks. The respondents
must be adequately capitalized to
accommodate the City’s cash and investment
management needs.

The City strongly prefers to select a
financial institution with a physical
branch within the City limits of Novato.
However, the City will also consider
proposals from banks that have a branch
within Marin County or the North Bay area.
A respondent who does not have a physical
branch in the City of Novato must specify
in detail throughout its RFP response how
services that might normally be handled
in-branch would be accommodated (eg, cash
and check deposits, petty cash
replenishments, cashiers checks, etc).

It is the intent of the City to award the
contract for an initial 5-year period with
the option to renew it annually up to a
maximum of 10 years at the sole discretion
of the City. The City desires fixed
pricing for the initial 5-year period with
a clear delineation within the RFP
response of how prices in years 6 – 10
would be determined.
